Air Compressor Installation FAQs

What size unit will I need?

This will vary based on the application and request.  We could be upgrading an existing unit and system, or working with an engineering firm that is sizing for a new plant, line, or process.

What is the cost variation in air compression units?

There is a lot of variation in cost depending on the type of unit and the size of the system.  This could range from a few thousand to millions of dollars depending upon scope.

Where in my business will this system go?

In any business, there is typically a dedicated area or room for supply equipment which will include the compressed air system. We will help you locate this if you’re unsure.

How do I service and maintain my system?

Most of our customers elect to enroll in our planned maintenance system which adds them to a schedule of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual service depending upon the operating hours and conditions of the facility.  This allows the plant maintenance staff to not have to worry about remembering to call in for service and keeps the air system running at optimal performance.

What does the installation process look like?

The process includes initial analysis and layout, to sales, installation, and maintenance.

This typically involves a phone conversation to start out where the type of system will be determined along with the general sizing questions.  Most often, a site visit will follow to go over the scope of the project.  If piping is requested, we will measure and draw a rough layout for quotation purposes.  Next, a quote will be generated for review and approval.  Once approved, equipment will be ordered and a target installation date will be set.  Once all equipment arrives, installation will be completed.  Finally, ongoing maintenance will be discussed and the customer added to the maintenance schedule.

Do you offer any type of warranty?

Yes! The Boge compressors include a 5 year main component warranty which requires maintenance by Columbus Compressor technicians at factory determined intervals.  Other brands and types of equipment have various warranty offerings.

What sets you apart from other companies?

We maintain a focus on quality and customer service.  We are critical systems experts with decades of experience in applications where downtime is not an option.

Which piping materials are available?

Aluminum, black iron, and copper.
